Women of Faith Foundation Ltd. Mission in Busia Women's Prison, Kenya on 10thDecember, 2023.

Women inmates housed in the 18 Kenya women prisons are vulnerable and face unique challenges, most of which come from the women's disadvantaged backgrounds. Their past experiences of abuse, neglect, and domestic violence have made most of them suffer diverse mental illnesses and trauma.

These women are challenged by the conditions including but not limited to poor architecture of prisons, strict security procedures, limited healthcare and or no family contact, and poor diet.

The latter presents extreme problems in health and childcare especially to pregnant inmates, who are eventually the primary caregivers to their children. Women of Faith Foundation Ltd. empowers Kenya women inmates through counselling and food donation. The above visit to Busia women's prison in 2023 with support by the Women of Faith Foundation-UK, provided counselling and food to over 50 women inmates and over 10 children, and initiated progressive engagement in mediating between the women and their families after jail term.

Well wishers are invited to support Women of Faith Foundation Ltd. to impact the lives of more Kenyan women inmates.

Women of Faith Foundation is a spiritual organization that strongly believes faith in God can promote hope in women and empower them to face life challenges fearlessly. Vulnerable women in Kenya are faced with strong economic challenges with most of them doing miniature jobs that earn them as little as a dollar or less per day. The foundation held a meeting with the Kenya women of Kakamega and the clergy to thank God for a successful financial empowerment program of Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA). The program was able to promote the women financially to the level of starting small businesses and increase their support in the family.

Through this program recorded data revealed many of the families enjoyed more peace and stability, with limited domestic violence. The foundation is seeking for support business start-up capital aiming at stabilizing and improving the women’s income.
